Title:

Senior Technical Manager – Noon Products

 

Reporting To:

 

Technical Controller

 

Hours :

Monday  - Friday 9am  - 5pm

(or as required)

Purpose:

To be the sites conscience and moral guardian. To uphold all aspects of food safety and legality, and ensure compliance to Customer Policy / COP.To be key customer contact for all technical issues. Deliver all site objectives as part of the site senior management team.

Deputise for Technical Controller as required.

 

Responsibilities:        

 

1.    Department Management

Lead, manage, and motivate the department, coaching and encouraging people to achieve results which meet targets and objectives set, and support the company values.

Motivate and develop all team members by setting, agreeing and reviewing individual and department objectives to encourage the achievement of goals, identifying skills gaps and initiating recruitment and training as appropriate.

2.    Customer Relationship

Maintain excellent relationships with all customers to promote the site and build long term relationships to support the efficient running of the business.

Ensure all times that we are meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

3.    Budgetary Control

Formulate, agree, monitor, and report on budgets for the department to enable the site to meet its business operating profit.

Where budgetary targets are not being hit, agree corrective action to bring spend in line with expectations.

4.    Technical Compliance

Set site technical policies to ensure compliance to all Food Safety, Legal and COP requirements.

Through regular auditing, unannounced auditing and other measures as appropriate set expectations for site technical standards, so as drive site improvements and prepare the site for formal external audits.

Ensure site is fully prepared to match or exceed previous results in internal, group and external audits.

5.    Technical KPI’s

Set and monitor Technical KPI’s, use to drive site standards and continuous improvement.

6.    New Product Development

Work with NPD and Technical Development to ensure that all new products are developed and launched to the requirements of the Quality Management System and Customer COP. Impact on HACCP plan and allergenic risk in particular to be considered.

7.    Hygiene Standards

Provide direction and agree policy for Night Hygiene activities, set standards, and in partnership with Cleaning Contractor, and Chemical provider agree methods and drive improvements.

8.    Noon Technical

Deputise for the Noon Technical Controller in event of absence, or to cover specific projects or events. In this event carries the full authority and responsibility of the Technical Controller.

9.    Technical Operating Plan

Formulate, agree and implement a comprehensive site technical operating plan for next 12 months, based on the department strategy, to meet anticipated business requirements.

10.  Site Strategy

Liaise and cooperate with colleagues in the Senior Management Team to deliver the agreed site strategies.

11.  Any other duties as agreed with the Technical Controller.

12.  In the Absence of the Senior Technical Manager the role will be covered by the Technical Compliance Manager or any other person appointed by the Technical Controller
